Hello all. I am proud to say that I am now a fully licensed and certified SCCA Local and Regional race driver. I got my license on Sebring Raceway (http://www.sebringraceway.com) at Sebring, FL. The school, Panoz Racing School (http://www.panozracingschoolc.om) provided a 3 day course in which you are taught the basics of racing, autocrossing, circuit racing, as well as normal aggressive street driving. I paid a total of $3000 dollars, which sounds expensive, but actually pans out because tires, gas, and all day track racing when purchased personally would be almost 3 times as much. The instructors were amazing, and the school has had much experience in teaching and racing. A simple background check of Panoz and their programs would reveal there incredible history and their generosity to the racing scene. I drove a Panoz GT-RA race car, which had almost 350 horsepower. I had a fuckin blast. I reccomend it if you're interested in becoming an SCCA member, or would just like to learn how to drive CORRECTLY. Unfortunately, upon leaving the school and driving home, I was pulled over doing 106 in a 65. Goes to show you how you get used to the high speeds. Kellyn out.
For more information, PM or Email me. Also, follow the fuckin links I posted. Kick ass.

Anytime. I am willing to discuss anything. Ask me questions while it's still fresh in my mind. All I can say is that having a manual driveline, as well as a pair of smooth hands wins races. Brakes are essential. A car without a superior set of brakes is like trying to push a fat chick up stairs in a bathtub. Doesn't work. I suggest 4-piston Brembos. All the big guns, like the La Mans racers etc use em. I had em on my training car. Peace

Another thing, is that GulfCoast AutoCrossers here in Fort Myers have a really simple school that teaches you basic driving skills. Its no where NEAR Panoz racing school, but they teach you the REAL basics (following the line, braking zones.. gran turismo stuff lol) and they sit in the car with you correcting your mistakes. Its not a pro Road Race school, but its good if you want to start autocrossing.

To answer your question, I drove the car all 3 days. The first day was composed of simple "blip" or "heel-toe" downshifting and easy braking excercises. I never exceeded 60mph. The second day was when we actually got track time. Instructors would go to important corners of the track and watch the line we took and how we braked. On the 3rd day, we had actual racing. Near the end, we had a full race with a green to checkered flag. On the way home from racing school, I was so comfortable going fast, I actually got angry when an officer pulled me over and wrote me a 273 dollar ticket for going 101 in a 65. Asshole. Now all I can think about is how fast the instructors drive their wife's mini-vans. hahaha. "HANG ON KIDS, WE'LL GET TO SOCCER PRACTICE!" Killbert out.

God damn those occifers. Come on you where only going 101mph in a 60. And you shouldn't have stoped come on you have a 02 lexus IS 300 with headers, full custom exhaust, and intake on top of a fresh class A racing lience i an sure you would have no problem avoiding that $273 ticket. :D

running from cops esp on a highway(i assume thats what you were on) is a bad idea in any case, doesnt matter waht you have done to your car, either avoid the ticket by running(10% chance on highway) or take the ticket and stay out of jail, ill choose the ticket.

Eclipse, our dear friend acergamer was kidding. I have a friend who had a modified Yamaha R1, and constantly ran from police on i95 when he would go from Miami to here. He never got pulled over or caught, and he was at a flush 140-160 the whole way. That's one hell of an adrenaline rush. Now he doesn't ride bikes because his last memories of that bike were when it was lying on top of him in the middle of an intersection with the motor burning his legs. Those crotch rockets will end your life in a hot second. I like seats and a steering wheel, personally.
