I don't think there's really many hi-end guys on here, mostly just street cars. Justin from J&J posts up on naplesracing from time to time, Forrest is on here and NR but unfortunately he has to put a new toy together. Not many of the local class racers on the forums that I've found.

We'll be running 10.5 once we get the blower motor ready.

I have been contemplating building a car for this class Randy. How are the payouts, and numbers? Also would a chassis mounted short torque arm be allowed for the 4th gen f-body?

You won't get rich on the payouts. I think it was around $700 to win. Usually 8 to 16 cars at Immokalee, and yes the short torque arm is legal. They are running in the 5.30 to 5.80 range.

Here's a link to a site dedicated to the class http://floridarealstreet.com/Home_Page.html.

also alot of talk on

Still better than what the circle track is paying out anymore. Guess I will looking into some v6 rollers ... from the rules looks like I could build an LS2 and run it correct?

Yes you can.

I don't think you'll want the short tq arm with the kind of power you're going to need to be competitive. - The only team I know of that has been successful with a short arm(jegs unit, but with and adjustable front mount) has been Bum/Spires in their drag radial car, and even they have talked about going to a longer arm for more consistency.

What are most of the cars averaging Randy? I was thinking right around 5.30, but I haven't watched it that closely.

If I pick up a 4th Gen F-body, I will probably just grab the BMR Level 2 Track Package. BMR has some nice products, and usually give a nice cash discount if you pick it up yourself. I will be doing my research, and talking to Greg (Chevpower) on N2S. He seems to get his cars to hook pretty well, and they are in the 5.8x range right now ... with probably enough power to get to the 5.6x. I really haven't looked into what has worked, or is working for others. 275 tire will be a fun challenge.

I love the Spires car ... looks just like my old LT1. Medium Patriot Red.

^ cool man. The BMR stuff is great. TQ arm cars are easy to make hook, but hooking a 275 and not going on the bumper is tough. That class runs a real fine line on getting the wheel speed just right; too much and it spins, not enough and it's on the bumper.

You're going to want a well-built cage and through floor frame structure. - Remember when building it, it's always better to have more chassis than what you need.

The class usually runs in the 5.3x to 5.8x range.
