yes. registration opens at 8 am and drivers meeting/novice school starts around 9:30. if you get there about 8:30 you should be ok. cost is $20. start driving at 10 am.

power steering, who needs that. mine is getting deleted shortly after this event. i guess if you drive the car a lot on the street it comes in handy.

Mike: What happened to your A-arms?

The Ichiba A-arms that I bought to adjust camber on the front of my Z had a bushing failure...and then the replacement arm had a bushing failure from normal driving.

I ordered a set of SPL A-arms and put them on yesterday. very well-made product...

But I just discovered I was a little too agressive with the camber. I am sitting on -3.8 at the moment.:eek

I'm going to change the shims and get the toe set in a bit.

I want between -2.5 and -3.

That's some massive camber...especially compared to what you were at before.

We were playing with -2.5 to -3.5 the last test and tune. Trying to balance the turn in/traction with braking. To tell you the truth, I had a hard time telling the braking difference or loss, but could tell the traction difference. I should have a thermometer to look at temps across the tire, but I couldn't swing that by Rachael.

By the end of the last test and tune, we got the car to where we could get the back end to step out slightly without feeling crazy. A lot of those changes came with adjusting the rear camber. More playing tomorrow. At least our tires like us a bit more now that we're not at -1F, -1.6R.

PS. Power steering is the only change made since last month. I don't have anything "new". Atleast the thing doesn't make nasty noises anymore!

Fucking hit a semi tire last night on the way down and it cut my hood cable.

I am going to the JY tomorrow to see if I can find one in the morning. Hopefully ill be able to make it sunday.

Just put on a rear sway and the battery tie down was fixed, pain in the ass.

Like I said, need to get ahold of a new clutch, otherwise I'm pretty set to go and stoked. Might come out Sunday to spectate and get an idea of what I'm diving into.

I went out there today as a spectator. I left right when lunch started, it was a good time.

I've got a question though, near the back end of the track today, what was the average speed? I know it varies a lot between cars, but was it like 40-50ish?

Also, I've got an infrared camera if anyone ever wants to check temps (tires, engine, turbo, etc) I actually had it with me today and thought to myself it'd be cool to put it on some of the cars.

I got into third but not all that deep. I am thinking 70-ish. This was one of our slower, tighter courses.

The very back was the turn-around and I was at the top of second just before braking, so 50-55. (didn't quite hit the limiter there)

Rachael did well on knocking her times down. I found out that our car has a lot more in it if really pushed, but i'm not skilled enough to keep it at the edge. Our street tires finally died too. Time to get serious about tires.

did you guys get that tire issue resolved on the beamer? i had to leave early so i didn't see if you were able to run it.

yup. thanks for the help. tirekingdom was cool and resealed the bead for free in less than 10 min. the e30 ran well and andrea got her times down pretty well.

yesterday was like tire problem day for us. e30 with a bum bead and a star spec getting trashed. talk about fun......150 miles home on a donut....crawling on alligator alley

there is an event out here at homestead in 2 weeks, so i'll have to see if we can get tires for the subie by then. if not...rock the e30

Mike edged me out by .8 this event. A bit more if the course workers were paying attention to my off course. :P Ill take it though.

I thought about it! Looked like it would be tight...perfect for the e30. However, power got the best of me. DSP looked really close. Good times too.

April we can only make Sunday, so probably just WRX that day, but May the e30 should be back out.
